Other Activities
Along with the general session and classes, these activities provide opportunities for networking, recreation, and fun.
These activities act as the icing around the layers of GLRLL cake!
-
Early Bird Activities
If you’re an early riser, you’ll like this opportunity to join like-minded individuals in activities to start off the day. These could include morning mediation, singing, walks on the beach, or chats over tea – the sky is the limit as you watch the sun rise. Of course, these activities are optional, yet are an excellent way to build your experience at GLRLL.
-
Night Owl Activities
After the last scheduled activity is complete, you will have the opportunity to dance, play games, take a night hike, or whatever the group dreams up during Night Owl Activities. These experiences are optional participation.
-
Auction
Join us on Sunday afternoon as we gather in the spirit of friendly bidding to support the GLRLL scholarship fund (did you know first time attendees can apply for a scholarship!? Check it out here.). The excitement is high as you bid to get the items you want! You can even try your hand at auctioneering!
-
Evening Programs
Be prepared to have aching sides from the laughter you will have during Evening Programs. At the end of the day, these sessions combine fun, activities and creativity for evenings you won’t forget (and they will even send you home with some ideas for your own gatherings!). Each night is different and no one ever knows exactly what will happen – it’s all part of the fun!
-
Special Interests
Do you have a special talent, a game to try, or knowledge to share? Please bring these with you – as Special Interests are an informal time for participants to connect with each other and share the things that make us unique outside of formal class time.
-
Connection
One of the best parts of coming to GLRLL is the opportunity to connect with other attendees (aka Labbers). The rich tapestry of people and experiences truly make GLRLL unique. We’re positive you will complete your experience with new friends, new skills, and a refreshed sense of being.
Annual Meeting
As part of the Sunday activities, you will have the opportunity to engage in the business side of Great Lakes Rec Lab as part of our non-profit status. Help elect the next volunteer Board of Directors (or nominate yourself!) that plan the next year’s lab, review the finances of the organization and explore the by-laws.
This is an area where ‘members only’ are able to join the experience. Those members who have pre-registered as “Member Only” are welcome to attend the Annual Membership Meeting on Sunday at 1:00 PM if they are in compliance with the COVID-19 vaccination policy. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate drop-in participants or guests. We appreciate your observance of this policy.
